Imbir Mom

Trade name of the medicinal product: “Imbir Mom”

Dosage form: A herbal syrup with a specific odor, brownish in color (a small amount of sediment and particles may be present), packaged in 200 mL polymer bottles, packed in cardboard boxes with a holographic label (1 bottle), (2) a dosing device — dispenser, and (3) instructions for use.

Composition:

Licorice root extract
Ginger extract
Chamomile flower extract
Mint extract
Chlorhexidine — 0.05%
Benzydamine — 0.03%

Excipients: Purified water

Dosage form: Syrup, 200 mL per bottle. The medicinal product is free from alcohol and sugar.

Pharmacological properties

“Imbir Mom” is used for the prevention and complex treatment of inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and throat (infectious, allergic, and atrophic), as well as conditions following surgical interventions in the oral cavity and throat. This product is intended to moisturize the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and throat.

The product has a positive effect on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and throat and helps reduce dryness and unpleasant sensations in the mouth and throat. Medicinal products used together with “Imbir Mom” and containing components compatible with the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and throat reduce the effectiveness of therapeutic agents and shorten the duration of diseases of the oral cavity and throat.

Calendula contains triterpene saponins — oleanolic glycosides A–F; triterpene alcohols — monols, diols, and triols; isorhamnetin and quercetin glycosides containing flavonoids; scopoletin, umbelliferone, esculetin, including hydroxycoumarins; carotenoids — lutein and zeaxanthin; essential oils — α-fadienol, τ-cadinol, γ-acids; water-soluble polysaccharides — rhamnoarabinogalactans and arabinogalactans.

It has an anti-inflammatory effect and reduces capillary permeability. Terpene alkaloids, lactones, and the presence of flavonoids provide antimicrobial activity.

Glycyrrhizin has an epithelium-activating effect, reduces the permeability of mucous membrane capillaries, and has an expectorant action. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Sage extract — essential oil, flavonoids, ursolic and oleanolic acids, tannins, and other components — is used as part of a mouthwash with antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects for diseases of the upper respiratory tract, mouth and throat, as well as inflammation of the gums.

Action of the medicinal product:

Fungicidal, virostatic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antibacterial action in combination with medicinal therapy; licorice and calendula improve immune system function and reduce pain and inflammation.

Therapeutic indications

Prevention and complex treatment of inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and throat, including:

• pharyngitis;
• acute tonsillitis (angina);
• chronic tonsillitis;
• laryngitis;
• stomatitis;
• gingivitis;
• periodontitis.

Prevention and complex treatment of respiratory tract infections (including ARVI);

Conditions following surgical interventions in the oral cavity and throat.

According to the table below, for inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity: stomatitis, gingivitis, glossitis; tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis; candidiasis of the oral mucosa; infectious lesions of the pharyngeal mucosa; after surgical interventions (tonsillectomy, dental and jaw surgeries); injuries of the oral and throat mucosa; after tooth extraction procedures.

Separately indicated. The medicinal product is taken orally at a dose of 2.5–10 mg, 2–3 times a day, every 5–10 minutes. Considering that the composition contains sugar and alcohol, the medicinal product can be taken by patients with diabetes mellitus (types I and II), pregnant women, and children. The medicinal product should be taken for 0–7 days. To achieve a therapeutic effect, the medicinal product should be taken for at least 15 days.

External use: Gargling. For laryngitis and tonsillitis — gargle the throat with the solution (with clean water) at a ratio of 1:6, after previously diluting it with boiled water or gargling solution at a ratio of 6–10.

• Gargling begins by tilting the head backward; for complete and deep penetration of the solution, the tongue is extended as far outward as possible.
• A sufficient amount of solution is required for gargling, as the solution prepared for gargling may cause discomfort when it comes into contact with the mucous membrane. If the solution enters the stomach, it may cause nausea and pain. This, in turn, increases the patient's stress.
• For complete throat irrigation, gargling should be performed at least 6 times a day to prevent the solution from entering the stomach and to reduce its effect on the mucous membrane.
• The duration of gargling is important for complete throat irrigation. Gargle for at least 30 seconds, then spit out the solution and do not swallow it in order to control the breathing process.

Maximum indication: Before gargling with the medicinal product, shake the bottle well.

Adverse reactions:

Normally, the medicinal product does not cause adverse reactions. However, allergic reactions may occur in cases of individual hypersensitivity to one or more components of the medicinal product.

Administration of an excessive dose:

To date, no cases of overdose of the medicinal product have been observed.

Interaction with other medicinal products:

No adverse reactions have been observed when used simultaneously with other medicinal products.

The medicinal product should be stored out of the reach of children, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding +25 °C.

Shelf life — 24 months.
