· Simethicone — 66.6 mg
· 30% emulsion form — 222.2 mg
Pharmacotherapeutic group:
Antiflatulent agent.
Pharmacological properties:
Simethicone is an antifoaming agent belonging to the group of surface-active substances. Its main action is to reduce the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, promoting their coalescence into larger bubbles and facilitating their elimination through natural physiological pathways.
Simethicone acts locally in the intestinal lumen and is not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream, thereby excluding systemic effects. The medicinal product reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles, preventing their stabilization and facilitating their faster dispersion or evacuation. This helps reduce symptoms associated with flatulence (abdominal bloating, pain, and heaviness) and supports normalization of intestinal motility.
Indications for use:
· Abdominal bloating (flatulence);
· Gastrointestinal discomfort associated with increased gas formation;
· Preparation for diagnostic procedures (e.g., ultrasound, X-ray).
Method of administration and dosage:
For oral use. Shake the bottle before use. Take before meals or immediately after meals with a small amount of liquid.
· Children under 2 years: 8 drops 4 times daily.
· Children aged 2 to 6 years: 14 drops 4 times daily.
· Children over 6 years and adults: 16 drops 4 times daily.
Adverse effects:
Allergic reactions may occur in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the medicinal product.
Contraindications:
Individual intolerance to the ingredients of the medicinal product.
